Former Indian cricketer Robin Singh has officially ended their long-standing relationship Mumbai Indians. He had been a part of the franchise setup since 2010 and, although he was not included in the IPL squad after 2022, he continued to feature with their sister franchise, MI Emirates in the ILT20.
Singh served as the head coach of the five-time IPL champions for three seasons from 2010 to the end of the 2012 campaign, before being replaced by John Wright.
“I would like to share that I have officially parted ways with Mumbai Indians. Although I am no longer a part of their IPL staff from 2022, I am also with their team in the Emirates League this year. Thank you to the entire MI family and fans for the support during my remarkable journey since 2010!!! Best wishes to the franchise for the years to come,” Robin wrote on X.

The Trinidad-born cricketer represented India in one Test and 136 ODIs between 1989 and 2001. During his ODI career, he scored 2,336 runs and took 69 wickets with his medium pace bowling. His only ODI century came against the Sri Lanka national cricket team in 1997, although the match ultimately ended in a no result due to rain.
Robin also recorded two five-wicket hauls in ODIs, including a memorable performance against Sri Lanka during the 1999 ODI World Cup. Considered one of the finest fielders of his era, he ventured into coaching soon after retirement and first served as the fielding coach of the Indian men's cricket team.
Over the years, he has taken up coaching duties in various T20 leagues around the world including the Caribbean Premier League, Lanka Premier League, Bangladesh Premier League and Tamil Nadu Premier League. He also moved into cricket administration when he was appointed Director of Cricket and head coach of the United Arab Emirates national cricket team in 2020.
