Delhi Capitals Defeated Punjab Kings by three wickets in Match 55 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the HPCA Stadium, Dharamshala.

Invited to bat on a wicket that had a lot to offer for the fast bowlers, Punjab Kings got the better of the Capitals pacers courtesy of Priyansh Arya as they quickly got the better of the Capitals pacers despite a tough time from Prabhsimran Singh at the other end. Arya completed his half-century in just 24 balls, while Kings scored 72 runs in the powerplay.

Prabhsimran Singh was out on 18, leaving captain Shreyas Iyer in the middle at number three. After this, Arya became the victim of debutant Madhav Tiwari, due to which Cooper Connolly was brought in the middle. Connolly and Iyer put on a partnership of 83 runs from 52 balls, before Connolly was out for 38, Tiwary's second wicket of the day. After this, Starc dismissed Marcus Stoinis and Shashank Singh on consecutive balls, but Suryansh Shedge's unbeaten inning of 21 runs in 8 balls took Punjab Kings to 210 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. Shreyas remained unbeaten after scoring 59 runs on 36 balls.

In reply, Capitals got early blows as Arshdeep Singh and Yash Thakur dismissed openers Abhishek Porel and KL Rahul. Arshdeep removed Sahil Parakh, taking Capitals' score to 33/3. it was brought to the captain Akshar PatelWho got a chance to rebuild the Capitals' innings with Tristan Stubbs. The pair scored 41 runs from 23, with Axar being the aggressive one. Stubbs was run out after a mix-up on the score of 12, leading to David Miller's return to the side.

Akshar and Miller made a partnership of 64 runs, taking the Capitals close to the total. Akshar scored his first half-century of the season, but soon fell to 56 off 30. Miller faced the Kings bowlers, but fell for 51 runs. Ashutosh Sharma fell after making 24 off 10, but Madhav Tiwary, not out on 18, and Auqib Nabi, not out on 10, took the Capitals home with an over to spare.

With this win, the Capitals have kept their hopes of qualification open. With two games left, they have ten points and need to win their final two games of the season. Punjab Kings, on the other hand, suffered their fourth consecutive defeat, and with three games remaining, they will need to regroup and get back to winning ways.
