Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Raipur achieved an absolute thriller, defeating Mumbai Indians (MI) by two wickets and thus knocking them out in Match 54 of the 2026 Indian Premier League.
MI Rajat Patidar called him to bat, where he put 166 runs on the board after 20 overs. Naman Dheer and Tilak Verma scored 47 and 57 runs respectively. For the defending champions, it was Bhuvneshwar Kumar who was once again the star with the ball, taking four wickets for just 23 runs.
In reply, RCB chased down the total in spectacular fashion, winning after two runs off Rasikh Salam Dar off the last ball. However, Krunal Pandya laid the foundation of victory for the Bengaluru team, as he once again showcased his pinch-hitting skills by scoring 73 runs in 46 balls.

The 2026 IPL season will always be remembered for the rejuvenation of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The right-arm fast bowler once again proved that he is among the best players by taking four wickets in the first innings. These included important wickets of Rohit Sharma, Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav. Bhuvi now has 21 wickets in the IPL and is the comfortable holder of the Purple Cap.
2. Mumbai Indians bowlers dispatch heavy batsmen quickly
RCB have one of the best top-orders in this season's IPL, but MI made sure they did not become a hindrance early in the run chase. Deepak Chahar dismissed Virat Kohli in the first over of the second innings and sent him back for a golden duck. Soon, it was Corbin Bosch who got into the action, getting the precious wicket of Rajat Patidar to restrict RCB to 39 for 3 in the powerplay.
3. Krunal Pandya – RCB's hero of the night
When RCB's top order failed to give them runs, the scoring responsibility was taken up by none other than Krunal Pandya, who battled fatigue and cramps to play a brilliant inning of 73 runs in 46 balls to take his team closer to victory.
