Statistics Review of player records and milestones achieved

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Came from the jaws of defeat against Mumbai Indians (MI) to win by two wickets in the 54th match of the 2026 Indian Premier League. The win had a huge impact on the points table, with the defending champions now finding themselves on top of the standings while MI are officially out of the playoff race.

After opting to bat first, MI scored 166 runs in their quota of 20 overs. Naman Dheer and Tilak Verma returned to form with notable scores of 47 and 57 respectively, while the rest of the batting lineup fell victim to Bhuvneshwar Kumar. This fast bowler continued his excellent tournament by taking four wickets for just 23 runs.

In reply, RCB chased down the total on the last ball when Rasikh Salam Dar took two runs on the last ball to give his team the win. However, Krunal Pandya was the star of the run chase. Battling painful cramps and fatigue, the Baroda all-rounder scored 73 off 46 balls to ensure his team was always in the game despite losing the likes of Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar early in the innings.

As has been the case in all IPL matches this season, RCB vs. MI Players from both the teams achieved individual achievements in their respective T20 and IPL careers.
