Gujarat Titans (GT) became better than Rajasthan Royals (RR) In match 52 Won by 77 runs in the 2026 Indian Premier League on Saturday, May 9 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. The 2022 champions have moved up to second place in the points table after today's win.
RRStand-in captain, Yashasvi Jaiswal put GT into bat, with the visitors posting 229 runs on the board thanks to their openers, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan. Both of them added 118 runs for the first wicket, scoring 84 and 55 runs respectively in 10.5 overs. Washington Sundar gave the finishing touch by scoring unbeaten 37 runs in 20 balls in the death overs.
The hosts were never in the game in the second innings and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Vaibhav Suryavanshi gave them a fast start before being dismissed for 36 runs. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja scored 38 runs in the middle order, but he did not get any support from the other end. Among GT's bowlers, Rashid Khan took four wickets, while Jason Holder and Kagiso Rabada took three and two wickets respectively.

Shubman Gill once again showed that style and elegance can be as beneficial as brute strength in T20 cricket. The GT captain played some beautiful looking cricket shots to score 84 runs off 44 balls, this innings included nine fours and three sixes. He made an opening partnership of 118 runs with Sai Sudarshan to give GT the lead.
2. Mohammed Siraj becomes Vaibhav Suryavanshi's latest victim on the first ball
Vaibhav Suryavanshi has made a habit of hitting a six on the first ball of an international bowler. He did this with Jasprit Bumrah and Josh Hazlewood and now he has hit a six on the first ball of Mohammed Siraj as well. The 15 year old player also hit a powerful six off the ball of Kagiso Rabada. He scored 36 runs in 16 balls before Siraj got the better of him.
3. Rashid Khan deceives RR batsmen with his spin
Rashid Khan continued his stellar performance in Jaipur to help GT register their fourth consecutive win in this year's IPL. The Afghanistan spinner took down the stumps of both the high-flying Dhruv Jurel and the dangerous Donovan Ferreira in the same over, putting his team in the driver's seat in the second innings.
