Rajasthan Royals (RR) Sawai lost its third consecutive game at the Mansingh Stadium after suffering a 77-run defeat at the hands of Gujarat Titans (GT) In match 52 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) Saturday, May 9.
Stand-in captain Yashasvi Jaiswal put GT into bat, as the visitors posted 229 runs on the board. Their innings got an excellent platform thanks to the 118-run opening partnership built by Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan. The captain scored 84 runs in just 44 balls, while his opening partner scored 55 runs.
RR could never really get going in the run chase, losing wickets at regular intervals, preventing them from building partnerships big enough to give them a real chance of getting close to the target. Vaibhav Suryavanshi started well by scoring 36 runs, but was dismissed by Mohammed Siraj inside the powerplay. Rashid Khan was selected among the bowlers GTTook four wickets to shake the middle order. Kagiso Rabada and Jason Holder also took two and three wickets respectively.
As in every single IPL game this season, RR vs GT also saw teams break some records and players achieve individual achievements. The early partnership between both Gill and Sudarshan helped them achieve some notable records, with Suryavanshi achieving a major feat in his young career.
