Delhi Capitals could only manage a total of 142/8 in their 20 overs after being put in to bat by Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 51 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
They made a strong start in the powerplay but the Knight Riders spinners put pressure on the Capitals in the middle overs. The important moment of the innings came in the 11th over when Anukul Roy Set Pathum Nissanka and dismissed the dangerous Tristan Stubbs in the same over.
Nissanka, who was batting on 50, hit a four through cover to Roy after taking a step towards the wide. On the next ball, Roy pulled back his length, but bowled it outside the off stump. Nissanka was caught in the bait trap and was beaten after failing to reach the pitch of a ball stumped by Angkrish Raghuvanshi.
Three balls later, he bowled Tristan Stubbs on an arm ball. Stubbs was beaten at an angle while trying to punch the ball off the backfoot. Stubbs' wicket meant that Capitals' score was 89/5. Roy finished the innings with figures of 2/31 from four overs after being given the responsibility of bowling two powerplay overs.
