The off-field turmoil of the 2026 Indian Premier League has taken another turn as reports suggest that both Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) have taken strict action against player behavior to maintain the decorum of the franchise and the tournament.
According to Dainik Jagran, a franchise has imposed a temporary ban on vlogging of a certain player during the tournament, while also reporting that another player from the same team, who was caught smoking, missed his flight to Dharamshala yesterday and will join the team later today.
It is easy to connect the dots and find out that the team in question is Punjab Kings, which features both players Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal. Earlier this week, a video went viral on the internet in which the spinner was seen vaping or smoking inside the plane, which is prohibited by law.
Delhi Capitals banned the use of social media
However, PBKS is not the only team to come up with strict rules to maintain decency off the field. As per the same above report, DC has allowed families of players and support staff to take photos and videos from the team hotel to create memories, but are not allowed to share them anywhere on social media until the end of the tournament.
