He says how he has learned the art of chasing any kind of target while opening the innings Virat Kohli. Bethel says sharing the dressing room with his RCB teammates made him realize how much change can be seen in the game. The Warwickshire all-rounder believes that his stay with the Royal Challengers has taught him to play with more aggression and also be brave while playing.
“When I reached RCB, I was curious about the experience. Seeing Virat [Kohli]Silver [Patidar]and talking to dk [Dinesh Karthik]I realized this is where the game changes. It is played at a fast pace; You have to be aggressive and brave. Watching Virat chase the target, you understand the art of batting and how to control the chase and remain not out. It's about changing gears depending on the situation, Bethel said.
Bethel also shed light on his experience about the culture of cricket India And how there is so much information available regarding sports to youth at a very early age. The young English cricketer says that the way he has grabbed a lot of headlines despite playing very little in the IPL is a feeling of privilege.
“People here love talking about cricket. It's more practical, more information is shared. The passion and amount of cricket at a young age is incredible,” he said. He said, “The spotlight is a strange thing; life is still like that, but when people want to watch you play, it's a privilege. I don't know how many people in India would call me a starboy. It's so incredible.”
