Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) registered their third consecutive win Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on May 3.
Batting first, SRH were all out for 165 runs in 20 overs. Travis Head played a stormy inning of 61 runs in 28 balls with the help of nine fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 217.86. He made a quick partnership of 61 runs in just 32 balls with Ishan Kishan for the second wicket. However, the rest of the batting lineup failed to take advantage. For KKR, Varun Chakravarthy was the standout performer with 3/36, while Sunil Narine (2/31) and Karthik Tyagi (2/30) provided solid support.
In reply, KKR comfortably chased the target at 169/3 in 18.2 overs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi led the innings by scoring 59 runs in 47 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes. He made an important partnership of 84 runs for the second wicket with Ajinkya Rahane, which laid the foundation of the victory.
Among the SRH bowlers, Shivang Kumar impressed with his economy and gave runs at the rate of just 7.80 per over. With this result, SRH are third on the points table with six wins from 10 matches, while KKR are eighth with three wins from nine matches despite the win.
