Delhi Capitals execute brilliant run chase to defeat Rajasthan Royals in high-scoring encounter Indian Premier League On 1 May at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Both the teams gave explosive performances and turned the match into brilliant batting.
After winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals decided to bat first, but they got off to a bad start with their openers getting out early. The innings was rebuilt by Dhruv Jurel and captain Riyan Parag, who took control with a composed but aggressive partnership. Leading from the front, Parag scored a brilliant 90 runs in 50 balls with the help of eight fours and five sixes and maintained a strike rate of 180. Jurel supported him well by scoring 42 runs and ensured stability in the middle overs.
The real momentum shift came in the death overs, where Donovan Ferreira smashed an unbeaten 47 off just 14 balls, taking Rajasthan to a formidable 225/6. For Delhi, Mitchell Starc performed with figures of 3/40 in his first appearance of the season.
Delhi Capitals got off to an excellent start while chasing the challenging score. Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul put on a 110-run partnership for the first wicket, putting the pressure back on the Royals. Nissanka played a stormy innings of 62 runs in 33 balls, while Rahul equaled it by scoring 75 runs in 40 balls.
With the foundation firmly laid, Ashutosh Sharma and Tristan Stubbs calmly completed the chase and sealed an impressive win. The result moved Delhi to sixth place in the standings, while Rajasthan remained fourth.
