Sunrisers Hyderabad achieved the record-breaking target by defeating Mumbai Indians by six wickets in a high-scoring encounter at the Wankhede Stadium. Indian Premier League 2026 on 29th April.
Batting first, Mumbai Indians scored a mammoth 243/5 in 20 overs thanks to a sensational knock of 123 not out from 55 balls by Ryan Rickelton, who replaced injured Quinton de Kock. His innings, studded with 10 fours and eight sixes, came at a tremendous strike rate of 223.64. He got solid support from Will Jacques (46), Naman Dheer (22) and captain Hardik Pandya (31). Prafulla Hinge was the best bowler for Hyderabad, who took 2 wickets for 54 runs.
In reply, Sunrisers Hyderabad displayed brilliant batting to chase down the tough target in just 18.4 overs, which was the highest successful chase at the venue. Travis Head played a stormy innings of 76 runs with the help of eight sixes in 30 balls, while Heinrich Klaasen led the innings by scoring unbeaten 65 runs in 30 balls. His aggressive approach ensured that the required rate never became a concern.
For Mumbai, AM Ghazanfar took two wickets, but it was not enough to stop SRH's momentum. With this win, Sunrisers Hyderabad moved to third place with 12 points from nine matches, while Mumbai Indians slipped to ninth place with their sixth loss in eight matches.
