15 years old Vaibhav Suryavanshi His performance since his debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been ordinary. Maintaining his exceptional form in the current season, he is currently making a strong bid for the Orange Cap.
His performances against some of the top bowlers in the world have been so impressive that fans and experts alike have been left in disbelief. Cricket analyst Nauman Niaz also jokingly said that the Rajasthan Royals opener might be fitted with an AI chip because of the ease with which he is crossing boundaries at such a young age.
“What a guy he is! Like WADA does doping tests, he should be sent to some lab, maybe have some AI chip implanted in him. That's just unrealistic, man. I mean, I have high expectations. What kind of player he is,” Niaz was quoted as saying by NDTV Sports.
“I think he played a little slow (against SRH), his strike rate should have been 300. Okay, so medically, when you're 18, your whole body starts taking shape. Your shoulders get rounded, muscles build, triceps, biceps and your core gets stronger because you have peak growth, hormones, testosterone,” he said.
Niaz also highlighted the unique features that make Sooryavanshi different from the rest. The young Rajasthan Royals opener has been in sensational form in the Indian Premier League 2026 season, currently being the third-highest run-scorer with 357 runs in just eight matches. What makes his campaign even more remarkable is that he has already scored a century, which underlines both his consistency and ability to play match-defining innings.
“He is 16 years old. When he was born, Virat Kohli was already a world champion. He had already won. Now, what do you see in him? I tried to find out why there is this difference. Well, he doesn't have a lot of techniques. It is not his power but his technique (that helps him play like this). His wrist is a big factor in the game and also his arc,” said Niaz.
