Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Delhi Capitals play their third consecutive home game when they take on Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 31 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Tuesday, April 21.
The hosts come into the game on the back of two consecutive wins against Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings. DC, on the other hand, had won a dramatic game against defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore in their previous encounter at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium.
SRH vs DC: Toss Update
DC In Hyderabad, captain Akshar Patel correctly won the toss and decided to bowl first. The all-rounder is set to play his 100th match for the Capitals franchise. On the other hand, SRH captain Ishan Kishan said that the pitch is a bit different from what he played on during their last two matches on home soil.
Auqib Nabi misses out for DC, Nitish Rana comes into playing eleven
DC have decided to leave Auqib Nabi on the substitutes bench in place of left-handed batsman Nitish Rana. The main reason for this could be the lack of runs that Akshar's team got from its number three. Karun Nair played at that position in his last game, but missed it this time. Meanwhile, Nabi is not off the Impact Sub's bench for this game.
SRH vs DC: What did the captains say?
Akshar Patel, DC Captain
“We will bowl first. Luck is going good (on the toss); it would have been better to win all the matches. Thanks, I didn't think I would play 100 matches for DC. Hopefully we will win tonight. Obviously, to balance the team you need to understand how to balance your playing XI in cricket, what kind of wickets you are getting, so as per the situation you balance the team. And obviously, when you have such a big team, all It becomes difficult to manage, but at the same time, whatever contribution you make, you should think that whoever is sitting out, we select the best eleven for the team and that way, the players also understand how the game of cricket works – we can only play eleven players: Nitish Rana replaces Aaqib Nabi.
Ishan Kishan, SRH captain:
“It's hard to take a decision right now because I don't think it's the same type of wicket on which we played in the last two games. A few changes, Madhushanka came in, Hinz might miss (we're still not sure), Harsh Dubey is back, gives us a spin option as well. But yes, it all depends on how it plays out and how we, you know, go about it. We have a few changes. They are doing well. It's not about the result – It's about execution and their headspace, like I said earlier, and you know that's what any captain wants from his young bowlers, and I think they will continue to execute the plans.
