Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) The overseas pair of Phil Salt and Tim David took two brilliant catches in the space of 10 balls to restrict Lucknow Super Giants to just 146 runs in the first innings at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday, 16 April.
Englishman Salt He once again proved that he does not need to wear wicket-keeping gloves to show his game on the cricket field. The 29-year-old took an excellent diving catch off the bowling of Bhuvneshwar Kumar to dismiss LSG skipper Rishabh Pant. Pant guided a low fulltoss to the deep square leg boundary, where Salt dived to his left to take a blinder.
This is the second brilliant catch taken by Salt in the outfield. The England international pulled off an amazing catch to dismiss yet another captain, this time Sunrisers Hyderabad's Ishan Kishan, during the opening game of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL).
david's Meanwhile, the catch was great, if not better than Salt's effort. Again, off Bhuvneshwar, LSG's George Linde tried to direct a short ball to the third man boundary. However, David took an excellent catch while running back. These types of catches are generally the most difficult as the fielder has to time his run with perfection while assessing the trajectory of the ball over his shoulder.
