Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) ended Rajasthan Royals (RR)'s four-match winning streak, giving them a 57-run win at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday, April 13.

Riyan Parag won the toss for Royals on Monday and elected to bowl first. Joffra Archer once again hit a four on his first ball and this time dismissed the dangerous Abhishek Sharma. Travis Head looked uncomfortable during his 18-run innings. However, the 88-run partnership off 39 balls between Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen lit up the stadium.

Kishan unfortunately missed out on his second IPL century as he was dismissed by Sandeep Sharma in the 14th over after scoring 91 runs in 44 balls. Klaasen contributed 40 runs in 26 balls, while Nitish Reddy and Salil Arora also played important roles in taking the hosts to 216/6 in 20 overs.

In reply, Sunrisers started with a new new-ball pairing consisting of Prafulla Hinge and Saqib Hussain. Both right-arm fast bowlers were debuting in the IPL. This courageous call paid off immediately for Sunrisers as Hinge dismissed Vaibhav Suryavanshi for a golden duck and then took the wickets of Dhruv Jurel and Luan-Dre Pretorius in the very first over.

Saqib also took the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal in the next over. Hinge instilled confidence in Parag by sending him packing in the third over. At 9/5 in three overs, it looked like the match would end quickly. However, Ravindra Jadeja and Donovan Ferreira showed great fight during the partnership of 118 runs in 72 balls. Jadeja scored 45 runs, while Ferreira was out after scoring 69 runs. Tushar Deshpande finally threw his bat and scored 25 runs in 11 balls. However, in the end the visiting team was bowled out for 159 runs and lost the match by 57 runs.

Key moments of Match 21 of IPL 2026:

Ishan Kishan leads from the front

When? Ishan Kishan Plays well, SRH looks a very strong team. The stand-in captain scored 91 runs in just 44 balls with the help of eight fours and six sixes. He finished with a strike rate of 206.82. Kishan's stormy performance helped Sunrisers reach a position of strength from where the lower-order batsmen could start without worrying about losing wickets. That was exactly the situation on Monday, as cameos from Klaasen, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Salil Arora took the Orange Army to the 200-plus score.

Top five contributed five runs each for RR

Rajasthan's top order, especially the opening pair, entered the match in some aggressive form. However, on Monday, both Yashasvi Jaiswal And Vaibhav Suryavanshi flopped. The top five comprising Yashasvi, Suryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel, Luan-Dre Pretorius and Ryan Parag contributed only five runs in total. The defending champions failed to recover from these setbacks at the start of the run chase.

Prafulla Hinge, Saqib Hussain excel on debut

The SRH management deserves a lot of credit for showing the courage to field two novice fast bowlers, who made their league debut on Tuesday and took to it like ducks to water. While Hinz took 4 wickets for 34 runs in four overs, Saqib took 4 wickets for 24 runs in his four over spell. The match was almost decided in the first over of the run chase when Hinz took three important wickets.
