Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) They are set to play their first away match of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) when they travel to Assam to face Rajasthan Royals at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium on Friday, April 10.
The defending champions have collected four points from their opening two matches of the new season and are currently one of three teams that are yet to taste defeat. They come into their game against the Royals after an emphatic 43-run win over arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings in Bengaluru. Tim David's tremendous hitting was the highlight of the night as he scored an unbeaten 70 off 25 balls, an innings which included eight sixes.
RCB displayed some excellent batting. Apart from the aforementioned David, captain Rajat Patidar scored an unbeaten 48 off just 19 balls, while Devdutt Padikkal hit another half-century.
In the bowling department, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took three wickets to cross 200 wickets in his IPL career. Meanwhile, Jacob Duffy, Abhinandan Singh and Krunal Pandya took two wickets each.
An in-form and unbeaten team like RCB has no reason to make any major changes to their game against RR. The team which has given them two wins in as many matches should survive in Guwahati barring any unfortunate injuries.
Here is the strongest predicted XI of RCB vs RR, Match 16, IPL 2026:
Top order: Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, Devdutt Padikkal

The RCB top three is one of the best in this year's IPL, and for very good reason. Virat Kohli Has scored 97 runs in two matches, including a match-winning inning of 69 not out against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the opening game of the season.
Meanwhile, Devdutt Padikkal has scored two half-centuries in two matches at a strike-rate of 201.81. So far, the only opening batsman Phil Salt has fired. But it is only a matter of time before the Welsh-born batsman performs well for RCB.
