PBKS XI against CSK Probable playing 11 of Punjab Kings against Chennai Super Kings for the 7th match of IPL 2026

Punjab Kings (PBKS) will travel to Tamil Nadu to take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match 7 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday, April 3.

PBKS had made a winning start to their 2026 season by defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) in their opening game at New Chandigarh. The 2025 finalists bowled first in the game, restricting GT to 162 in 20 overs. Vijaykumar Vaishya was the best bowler, taking three wickets, while Yuzvendra Chahal took two wickets.

In reply, PBKS had a disappointing start and lost Priyash Arya early. After a strong partnership between Cooper Connolly and Prabhsimran Singh, Punjab lost their way and fell to 118 for 6. However, Connolly kept the scoreboard on track with his unbeaten 72 to guide Shreyas Iyer's side to a three-wicket win.

PBKS have a strong group of Indian batsmen and bowlers to go along with foreign all-rounders like Marcus Stoinis and Marco Jensen. The two-time IPL finalists are expected to retain the same core when they face CSK in Chepauk on Friday.

Here is PBKS's strongest predicted XI vs CSK, Match 7, IPL 2026:

Top order: Prabhsimran Singh (wk), Priyansh Arya, Cooper Connolly

PBKS have an excellent top order, consisting of three young batsmen who have a fearless approach to their game. Both Prabhasimran and connolly Showed his skills against GT, where he recorded a 76-run partnership, with the Australian receiving the Player of the Match award for his unbeaten 72-run innings.

Arya, on the other hand, had a disappointing start to the new season. However, the 24-year-old had scored 475 runs at a strike-rate of around 180 last time out.

Middle order: Shreyas Iyer (captain), Nehal Wadhera, Marcus Stoinis, Shashank Singh, Marco Johnson

PBKS have several explosive batsmen in their middle order, who are capable of scoring big runs in the middle overs when the field is spread out and when the spinners are active. The beauty of their middle order is the flexibility, as anyone after Shreyas Iyer can bat anywhere in the batting order depending on the situation.

Iyer Is the charismatic leader of the team. The captain scored 604 runs in 2025 at an average of 50.33 and a strike rate of 175. Punjab have a strong group of finishers like Shashank Singh, Marcus Stoinis and Marco Jensen, which allows them to bat at number eight.

Bowlers: Xavier Bartlett, Vijaykumar Vishak, Arshdeep Singh

There is no doubt that Arshdeep Singh is the leader of PBKS's bowling department. Although the left-arm pacer has proved costly at times, there is no doubt about his ability to take early wickets if given some assistance from the surface. Punjab Kings also have Yuzvendra Chahal In their ranks, Joe is probably their first choice player to be used as an impact sub.
