Tristan Stubbs joined hands with Sameer Rizvi and the two youngsters not only steadied the ship but also took calculated risks during their 119-run partnership off 76 balls. While trying to acclimatise to the challenging conditions, Rizvi had to take a few blows to his body. However, once he settled at the crease, he forced the hard-hitting Stubbs to bat in the second innings.
In the end, Rizvi, who came in as an impact player in place of T Natarajan, remained unbeaten on 70 off 47 balls. Stubbs, on the other hand, scored 39* off 32 balls. The Capitals won in 17.1 overs with six wickets to spare, much to the disappointment of the home fans.

He further said that the first five games in IPL 2026 have been won by teams chasing the target, in which dew has not played a very important role.
“For the fifth consecutive game, the team chasing has won… and dew had nothing to do with it in any of the games,” the cricketer-turned-commentator said.

Rizvi received the Player of the Match award for his brilliant innings. Earlier, the Capitals bowlers wreaked havoc, with Lungi Ngidi and T Natarajan taking three wickets each. Kuldeep Yadav also bowled well and took two wickets.
